Karmelo Anthony’s motion for a new trial has been denied. His legal team maintains that constitutional and legal errors impacted his right to a fair trial and says it will continue challenging his conviction through the appellate courts and every legal remedy available.

Judge Sid Harle granted Karmelo Anthony’s motion to recuse Judge John Roach from further proceedings in his case. Anthony’s legal team welcomed the ruling and said it looks forward to presenting the motion for a new trial before a fair and independent judge.
